Senior Geologist for Gold/Copper Project
Santiago and La Serena, Region IV, Chile

Cleveland Mining is a rapidly-growing Australian minerals company with projects in Brazil and Chile. Cleveland is on track to being a producing mining company, with production targeted for beginning 2012.  The Company is led by a world class Board and Management team, with a successful history of developing major projects, and a strong focus on turning Cleveland into a solid mid tier producer.  Cleveland’s focus in Chile is on gold and copper in Region IV of Chile.

THE OPPORTUNITY

An opportunity has arisen for a self motivated, results oriented individual to join our team in Chile in the role of Senior Exploration Geologist.

Reporting to the South America Principal Exploration Geologist, this senior position will be responsible for the management and development of the Company’s exploration Projects in Chile. The successful candidate will be assisted by Cleveland’s Australian and Brazilian teams, and will be expected to help build a technically competent team of Chilean nationals.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Lead a team of geosciences professionals in all aspects of the exploration process.
• Assist with development of exploration plans and budgeting.
• Generate high quality interpretation of geoscientific data to help build robust exploration models.
• Promote and manage the Chilean exploration teams activities
• Collect and maintain geoscientific data.
• Conduct programs in line with the Company’s QA/QC requirements
• Reporting in line with the company’s weekly and monthly requirements.
• Manage contractors (drill, assay etc).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• A recognised tertiary qualification in geology.
• 10+ years exploration experience, within Chile, preferably for gold and copper.
• Experience with the integration of geological, geochemical and geophysical data to develop exploration targets.
• Previous experience with Mapinfo, Surpac, Leapfrog and Acquire Database highly regarded.
• Proven planning and leadership capabilities in order to deliver targets and outcomes.
• Possess sound communication skills and a high level of computer literacy.
• Fluent written and spoken English language skills necessary.

The successful candidate must be able to manage multiple projects in numerous locations. They must be hands on and be prepared to spend extended periods in the field managing drilling programs (RC and Diamond drilling) and collecting data.
